You’re an enthusiast of ancient and historically interesting cabinet photos of people like you and me? Of prominents, emperors, kings, mistresses and stars of times long gone? In the section actors you can find many a cabinet photo of long forgotten broadway stars. To some of them I could even assign a certain play. Do you want to get an impression how grandma and grandpa looked like when they were children or which clothing was fashionable at that time? (What did granma wear under her dress?) Especially imposant „Facial Ornaments“ can be found in the category „beards“. You can also look at photos of technical tools, soldiers, uniforms and sabres. A special highlight are perhaps the worlds (wohl?) oldest Drag Queens. The handcoloured photos in the section „Couloured Photos“.
Perhaps you even have your own few cabinet photo and search for someone to exchange photos or just talk about them? If this is the case you’re at quite the right place. Make a journey through time and look more than 100 years back. Admire Cabinet Photos with awkward motives, more or less erotic photographies, typical dresses of the 19th century erect defenders of the fatherland and real characters. The category „Post Mortem“ will surely make you get gooseflesh! Guaranteed!
Some of the photographs have interesting details, which I can present you in high resolution. These photographs are marked with a small red dot. A small click leads you to a small window that shows a more detailed view. I’m pleased to allow you to download pictures for the sole purpose of private use. If you want a high defnition scan of one of the photos for private use, just send me a short email with your request. At a suitable opportunity I`ll fulfil your wish.
The question how I did date the photos is quickly fulfilled. Either I see the data (E.g. on the back of the photograph) Cabinet Photos that can be assigned to a certain historical event are easier to date, but just quite rare. So don’t take this too serious, but enjoy my pictures and breathe in the scent of history!. Speaking of „My pictures“: The photographes have mostly been family property for generations, thus they are almost invariably inalienable. I hardly ever object a fair trade of photos, which are not family property.
Just ask me! I have hundreds of so-called „Cartes de Visite“ (or just CVD).
Because I don’t collect these I can offer these photos under fair conditions. But I only accept Cabinet Photos as your offer.
